On this post, we're gonna shake things up a bit by giving you some tips on how to clean and disinfect your children's toys.
We've noticed that a lot of our hottest items fall into the category "toys", so we decided it would be great if we could put out some content to help you take care of them.
As a parent, I'm always worried about what my children touch and put in their mouths, especially when I'm not at home.
Since we don't always have knowledge as to where our kids place their toys, there's a possibility it may accumulate bacteria over time.
And as this happens, our children are also placed at a higher risk to get sick, and, we don't want that.
According to Dr. Karen Sokal-Gutierrez, a professor and children’s health expert at the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health, it is a good rule of thumb to clean your child's toys at least once a month.
You have to note that cleaning and disinfecting are two different things. Cleaning just physically removes the germs, while disinfecting kills them.
Toys usually have instructions on how to clean them, and most of the time toy companies would recommend using soap as an agent to remove dirt and other particles.
Since this is the case, we're gonna focus on how to disinfect your children's toys:
*Note that this method is not applicable to toys that are battery powered or use any form of electricity.
Do this at least once a month to make sure that your children's toys are free from dirt and germs.
Not only will you keep them safe, but also happy as their toys will always look good as new.
That's it for our tip of the day, hope you learned something new from us at Nice Stuff Co!
